Position Summary
Guilford College invites applications for a full time faculty position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor and Chemistry to begin August 2025 and run through May 2026. The Department of Chemistry employs experiential, inquiry-based learning to stimulate academic excellence through independent thinking, interdisciplinary applications, and critical analysis to develop tomorrow’s leaders in the sciences. The successful candidate will teach introductory courses in Chemistry, including Chemical Principles I and II, and may have the opportunity to teach upper-level courses in the area of speciality as well as mentor student research projects and supervise internships.
The applicant should be able to demonstrate the ability to help diverse students to develop skills to pursue graduate research in chemistry and related fields, attend graduate programs in the health professions, and/or pursue a career in industry. A masters degree in a relevant discipline is required, a PhD or other terminal degree is preferred. Successful experience in college teaching is preferred.
