Description
The Volunteer Assistant Coach will assist the head coach with any aspects related to developing and maintaining a competitive program. Under the guidance of the Head coach, the volunteer will assist as directed to support phases of the program to include, but not limited to practice and competition support, skill instruction, record/statistic keeping, assisting in recruiting and any other related duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
Responsibilities
1. Participate in meetings with the coaching staff, athletic trainers, and University staff to ensure coherent communication throughout the organization.
2. Assist with recruitment activities for student athletes.
3. Help with practice planning and implementation, as well as attend practices to help with coaching.
4. Assist department administrators in respective areas to ensure the student-athletes are meeting their responsibilities.
5. Assist with facilitating the code of conduct for student-athletes
6. Travel with team when necessary.
7. Assist with film breakdown when needed.
8. Assist in the efforts to promote the academic success of student-athletes.
Qualifications
1. Ability to work without supervision and ability to speak clearly and use courtesy and tact in dealing with people.
2. Understanding of the rule requirements for the designated sport.
3. Able to work a flexible schedule throughout the year.

Preferred Qualifications
Collegiate competitive experience in the described sport.
Physical Demands
1. Ability to relocate equipment and supplies to various locations for athletic events.
2. Ability to drive to various locations.
3. Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds.
Working Conditions
1. Work performed in various locations in and around the Life University campus, including athletic fields, track, and gymnasiums.
2. Some travel required.
3. Flexibility to accommodate schedules of athletic events.
