The Learning Resource Center (LRC) is dedicated to empowering students by providing academic support that stimulates critical thinking and nurtures the development of academic independence.
Tutor Job Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students seeking assistance in various subjects within the assignment guidelines and boundaries of the LRC
- Set a precedent of academic integrity, accountability, responsibility by modeling and demonstrating good student behavior as a tutor.
- Contributes to student learning, growth, and advancement.
- Develop and implement strategies that promote analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Refers students to appropriate support services when necessary.
- Collaborate with faculty and other LRC staff to identify areas for improvement and adapt tutoring strategies accordingly.
- Create educational materials, resources, and guides that supplement course content and aid in comprehension.
- Stay updated on curriculum changes and educational trends to ensure relevance of support materials at the direction of the Coordinator.
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions in TracCloud.
- Distribute and collect student feedback at the direction of the Coordinator.
- Other duties as assigned
$15.00/hour Scheduled up to 28 hours per week
Tutor Qualifications/Skills:
- Minimum of B in subject to tutor.
- Emotional maturity and stability.
- Patient, flexible, positive, consistent, dependable, and cooperative.
- Ability to take supervision and correction constructively.
