The Executive Director of Residential Life, Dining Services, and Community Standards provides strategic leadership and operational management for the areas of Residential Life, Dining Services, and Community Standards. The position analyzes the effectiveness of and establishes future direction for functional policies and programs through a deep commitment to student development and desire to foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all students.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, and administration of a comprehensive residential education and housing program that is focused on providing a transformational experience for residents geared towards student success.
Provide leadership, oversight, and direction to the university’s dining services contract to include residential dining, retail, concessions, and catering. Ensure quality and value for student board participants, including facilitation of student dining plan appeal process and chairing Dining Advisory Board.
Provide leadership, oversight, and direction of the University's student conduct / community standards process and related procedures ensuring implementation of procedurally sound, education-focused conduct practices.
Develop, assess, and evaluate all programmatic aspects of the department and its service to students.
Plan and implement long-term mission and goals for Residential Life, and Dining, and Community Standards in conjunction with the overall vision of Plymouth State University.
Provide ongoing assessment information and support to campus leadership regarding residential life, dining, and community standards.
Serve as a resource and educate students on the rights and responsibilities of community membership.
Serve as appellate officer for serious conduct cases.

Work collaboratively with Title IX Coordinator for cases that require a Formal Hearing as outlined in the Sexual Misconduct (Title IX) Policy.
Lead regular reviews of the Student Code of Conduct to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, as well as the state system and University policy.
Work with general counsel’s office on legal matters pertaining to significant allegations/violations of policy.
Regularly communicate with/ represent University to law enforcement regarding concurrent criminal matters.
Review, refine, and develop resource and educational materials for students and campus stakeholders, training materials for hearing officers.
Develop and evaluate effective sanctioning practices to meet the needs of the university.
Collaborate on campus-wide programmatic efforts.
Serve as spokesperson for the department and act as liaison with other university departments, faculty, staff, and student.
Respond to all student family inquiries relating to housing, dining, and community standards concerns.
Final decision authority for all concerns related to housing and dining.
Serve on departmental and campus committees.
Develop and update Residential Life Policies and Procedures.
Oversight of overall content and message of department publications and web presence·
Facilitate vendor selection, evaluation, quality assurance for prevention and sanction modules.
Point of contact for campus laundry services provider.
Provide campus level oversight for vending services contract.
Provide campus level oversight for beverage program with Pepsi Co. Liaison with dining services, athletics, vending, and other campus constituents.
Demonstrate an on-going commitment to diversity and inclusion· Promote a flexible, collaborative, and inclusive working environment.
Review and maintain policies with the Registrar for conduct holds, conduct transcript notations that reflect the current Student Code of Conduct policies.
Ensure office compliance with applicable laws, including, but not limited to, Title IX and the FERPA; exercise best practices regarding the maintenance of confidential student information.

Directly responsible for the oversight and supervision of the Housing Coordinator (OS).
Directly responsible for the oversight and supervision of the Office Manager (OS).
Directly responsible for annual performance evaluations for directly supervised staff members (OS & PATs).
Indirectly, through the Associate Director for Residence Education and Assistant Director for the Residential Experience, responsible for the oversight and supervision of employees.

Financial
Collaborate with Financial Services to develop and manage the Residential Life budget.
Collaborate with Financial Services to develop and manage the Dining Services budget.
Collaborate with Financial Services to develop and manage Student Conduct/Community Standards budget
Provide guidance and oversight for Dining contract budget and use of investment (in-kind) funds.
Develop and manage the occupancy management plan for all residential buildings 2400 beds in 10 distinct residential areas) to include annual projections and review of live-off eligibility requirements in consultation with campus leadership.
In conjunction with campus partners, develop, prioritize, and facilitate the repair and renovation project schedule for all residential and dining facilities.
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong supervisory experience.
Successful experience developing and managing budgets.
Facilities management experience.
Proven analytical and strategic planning skills.
Working knowledge of regulatory compliance issues such as the Clery Act
Ability to demonstrate excellent skills in management, administration, oral and written communications, budgeting, interpersonal relationships, short- and long-range planning, problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking
Demonstrated foundational knowledge of student development and understanding of current trends in the field of housing & residence life·
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrate the ability to be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of a diverse and dynamic environment
Have served in a residence hall on-call structure. ·
Three or more years full-time residential life experience.
Prior experience in higher education at a four-year residential institution
