Plymouth State University (PSU) is seeking a dynamic and creative professional to oversee student clubs, organizations, and leadership development initiatives that enhance student engagement, retention, and success.
This role provides strategic guidance to the Student Senate, supporting student club/organization recognition, leadership training, university allocations, and assessment processes. Additionally, the position advises the student-led campus programming board (PACS) and Fraternity and Sorority Life, fostering leadership development and facilitating educational and social event planning.
Reporting to the Director of Student Life, this position collaborates with the Student Life Team to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive campus community.
Oversee student club/organization management and student leadership development: Provide strategic guidance to the Student Senate and oversee the development and management of over 80 active student clubs and organizations on campus. Responsible for facilitating the club/organization recognition process, ensuring that new and existing student groups align with university policies and student engagement goals, integrating PSU’s Habits of Mind. Support the facilitation process, helping student leaders navigate operational requirements, event planning, and leadership transitions effectively. Oversee the budgeting and allocation process, working closely with the Student Senate to manage university funding distribution equitably and transparently, ensuring financial sustainability for student organizations. Oversee the student club/organization evaluation and assessment process, requiring data-driven evaluation of student involvement, organizational effectiveness, and event impact to inform future improvements.
Mentor student leaders, with a strong focus on building community, fostering belonging, and enhancing student retention.
Advise Student Programming Board (PACS): Lead, direct, and advise PSU’s student-run programming board (PACS), providing the members of the organization with direction and support in their development and implementation of campus-wide educational, social, recreational, and cultural programming for the student body; including, but not limited to: live entertainment, ‘home-grown’ events, trips, and fall and spring annual themed events (i.e. Welcome Week, Fresh Check, Homecoming & Family Weekend, Winter Carnival, and Spring Fling). Events may range from thought- provoking guest lectures, ‘pub nights’, and multicultural events to comedy and musical performances and large-scale dance parties that support retention and persistence. Assist PACS in developing their annual budget request and presentation to the student senate finance committee.
Fraternity & Sorority Life Management and Student Organization Development: Advise the Inter-Greek Council and recognized fraternity and sorority chapters at PSU, supporting the development of values-based leadership, scholarship, service, and community engagement. Oversee risk management education and compliance, ensuring adherence to university policies, national organization standards, and local/state regulations. Coordinate regular training sessions for chapter leaders and members on topics such as hazing prevention, alcohol and drug education, event safety, and Title IX compliance.
Serve as the primary liaison between the University and national headquarters or governing councils (NIC, NPC, NPHC, etc.), maintaining strong, collaborative relationships. Support the recruitment and new member education processes of fraternities and sororities. Guide evaluation and assessment processes for chapters, including tracking of academic performance, community service, leadership development, and risk reduction initiatives.
Oversee the Development and Implementation of Weekly/Weekend Programs: Planning and coordinating diverse activities to cater to the interests of students.
Collaborating with student organizations and campus departments to ensure program variety and inclusivity. Managing budgets and resources effectively to support program sustainability. Evaluating program success through feedback and participation metrics.
Fiscal Management, Policy Implementation, and Contracts: Manage and facilitate the implementation of student club/organization programming budget, ensuring there is regular programming available to the student body. Maintain thorough knowledge of the state and university system policies and regulations as they relate to student activities, fundraising, purchasing, building operations, safety, and contract negotiations and educate students on such areas as needed Serve on college committees as appropriate and/or requested. Manage and facilitate the implementation of a departmental programming budget, ensuring there is regular programming available to the student body within the student union building, and across campus. Maintain thorough knowledge of the state and university system policies and regulations as they relate to student activities, fundraising, purchasing, building operations, safety, and contract negotiations and educate students on such areas as needed. Serve on college committees as appropriate and/or requested.
Integrated Programming Development & Campus-Wide Event Support: Collaborate with Student Life Team, student clubs and organizations, and other campus partners to advance educational and social event planning and implementation skills sets. Support the development of campus-wide student events, which will include representing Student Life in collaboration with colleagues across campus (i.e. Events & Conference Services, Residential Life, Athletics, Silver Center for the Arts, Alumni Relations, University Police) to provide a comprehensive offering of campus programs for students, fostering a cohesive student involvement experience. Track participation, collect data, evaluate, analyze, benchmark, and assess student programming to determine successes, implement adjustments and develop alternative models for scaling programs.
Data Collection and Assessment: Provide leadership of data collection and assessment of student club/organizations, leveraging co-curricular platform. Gather institutional wide data and stories for the purpose of reporting to the PSU community, funders, partnering organizations, business and non-profit industry leaders, community members, and other external stakeholders. Participate in the assessment of high impact learning by tracking metrics and outcomes using PSU supported tools.

Keep up to date and to be fully knowledgeable of university policies. Facilitate and/or present at regional and national conferences. Serve on university committees as deemed appropriate and in the best interest of Plymouth State University. Assume other responsibilities and perform related duties as assigned.
