The Program Coordinator leads LOSH education programs designed to meet the needs of Southern California's diverse workforce, with a particular focus on statewide worker training and leadership development initiatives for which LOSH serves as the Southern California lead. Works with other LOSH staff and community-based partners to assess needs and identify target audiences in the region; design and develop curricula and educational materials related to labor and employment law, injury and illness prevention, skills building and leadership development; and implement and evaluate training programs in English and Spanish. Establishes and maintains relationships with government agency representatives, local and regional labor unions, worker and community-based organizations, employment law agencies, employers, and other UC-based programs. Facilitates trainings and workshops, leads program evaluation activities, and provides technical assistance and consultation to workers on interpreting laws and regulations and navigating various claim processes. Represents LOSH in local, state and national meetings. Meets reporting and deliverable requirements as established by funders and the university. Contributes to grant proposals and participates in LOSH organizational and staff development initiatives.

Qualifications Experience developing curricula, educational materials, and/or training activities for adult learners. (Required)
Experience facilitating training sessions and/or teaching through in-person or online means. (Required)
In-depth knowledge of occupational safety & health and labor laws and policies. (Required)
Knowledge of adult education principles with a commitment to advancing workplace health and safety, environmental health, and social justice for all workers. (Required)
Ability to synthesize and communicate technical, legal, and/or policy information for lay audiences. (Required)
Ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing, with diverse audiences. (Required)
Ability to complete tasks with minimal oversight and to make decisions independently. (Required)
Ability to analyze situations, define problems and objectives, formulate logical conclusions, and recognize alternative solutions where initial conclusions cannot be implemented. (Required)
Ability to work as a team player, thrive in a team environment, and foster teamwork among others. (Required)
Available for occasional evening and weekend activities as determined by operational needs. (Required)
Fluency in written and spoken Spanish. (Preferred)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal AffiliationsBachelor's Degree in public health/Law or equivalent experience / training (Required) Or
Five years equivalent experience/training. (Required)
