The Director, Graduate Business Program assists in the leadership of the Graduate Business Programs within the graduate division of the school. This role involves supporting both the academic and administrative components of the graduate programs, including but not limited to: the development, assessment, and continuous improvement of the graduate curriculum; the recruitment, retention, and professional development of faculty; advising and supporting student success and retention; assisting with corporate outreach and partnerships; and contributing to the recruitment and retention efforts for graduate-level programs.
50% of Time: Student Recruitment & Retention, and Support
Student Advising & Retention: Assist in advising and supporting students within the Graduate Business portfolio, focusing on student communication and retention strategies.
Point of Contact: Serve as an accessible point of contact for students, faculty, and staff, addressing inquiries and providing information on matters related to the Graduate Business Programs.
Recruitment Support: Assist in the recruitment of new students for the Graduate Business Programs by participating in one-on-one recruitment sessions, open houses, seminars, offsite events, and other recruitment initiatives in collaboration with Graduate Admissions.
Revenue Goals & Retention: Contribute to meeting revenue goals through retention strategies in partnership with Graduate Admissions to support the success of Graduate Business Programs.
30% of Time: Academic Oversight, Assessment, and Faculty Support
Curriculum Development: Assist in the development and execution of graduate-level curriculum, ensuring that updates and changes are properly approved and aligned with the institution's academic standards.
Program Assessment: Participate in the overall assessment of the Graduate Business Programs, identifying areas for improvement and helping to ensure the programs meet established quality benchmarks.
Faculty Support: Assist in the Graduate Business portfolio by managing required course offerings, schedules, and teaching assignments. Support the hiring, onboarding, and evaluation of faculty, including orientation and training activities.
Student Feedback & Course Evaluation: Monitor student evaluations of instruction and courses, utilizing feedback to improve program offerings and enhance the student experience.
Accreditation & Program Reviews: Assist in preparing for program reviews, accreditation visits, and compiling departmental information for external evaluations.
Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality and currency of academic offerings in the Graduate Business Programs and recommend revisions to curricula or approaches to improve education.
Student Support Resources: Help evaluate the adequacy of student support services and recommend resources or acquisitions needed to support graduate-level students.
Teaching: Teach two graduate-level courses per academic year (Fall-Summer) as part of the faculty load.
20% of Time: Leadership and Oversight of Graduate Business Programs
Professional Leadership: Assist in providing professional leadership for the Graduate Business Programs within the Gerrish School of Business and College, supporting both academic and administrative functions.
Curriculum Development & Assessment: Collaborate with the Associate Dean of Graduate Business Programs and the Dean to facilitate curriculum development and regular assessment, ensuring that program offerings are current and relevant.
Policy & Program Health: Participate in policy discussions, contribute to the ongoing health of the Graduate Business Programs, and engage in market analysis activities to ensure the programs remain competitive and effective.
Committees & Councils: Serve on various councils, commissions, and committees as outlined in College policy, contributing to the governance and strategic direction of the institution.
