Department of Biology (Professor Jennifer Sunday)
Position Summary:
- Screens abstracts from published literature to identify studies that meet predefined inclusion criteria for a systematic review or data synthesis.
- Extracts quantitative and qualitative data from published literature.
- Data analysis.
- Fits models to extracted data. This involves applying nonlinear thermal performance curves models to characterize relationships between temperature and response variables within the extracted data.
- Keeps track of methods for reproducibility by documenting each step of the workflow clearly, including code, inclusion/exclusion criteria, data cleaning steps, and modeling decisions.
Qualifications:
- Conscientious.
- Team player.
- Advanced skills working with data in the programming language R.
Education/Experience:
- Experience searching and reading primary literature.
- Experience fitting models to thermal performance curve data.
- One year experience working in a lab.
- Background in ecology.
Location: This position is located in Montreal, Quebec and the work for this position is expected to be performed in Quebec.
Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level # (4) qualifier on a scale of 0-4.
