The Opportunity:
UCF IT is seeking a Manager, IT Project & Planning to lead and manage large complex IT projects and programs, collaborate with stakeholders and resource managers to prioritize efforts, lead process improvement initiatives, and participate in IT governance and IT Portfolio Management. This role will facilitate communication and cross-functional teamwork, working closely with client stakeholders and executive leadership to ensure thorough requirements gathering, work to align projects with University strategy and goals, and track & report key performance indicators throughout the project/ program/ portfolio life cycle, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Responsibilities:
Leads, coordinates, and project manages strategic initiatives related to enterprise platforms, software applications, data systems, and resources. Assists in long-term strategic planning, process development and improvement.
Responsible for assembling project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, identifying work requirements, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of project.
Responsible for planning department and university program activities and monitoring progress of multiple related projects and rolling those up to identify and mitigate program-wide risks, issues, and changes.
Manage the execution of PMO process, ensuring project requests are reviewed by the appropriate IT and business stakeholders for successful delivery.
Liaison between leadership, business stakeholders, technical resources, and external vendors to ensure documentation of project scope, business processes, use cases, and requirements.
Maintain documentation of PMO processes such as project intake, governance, and compliance, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with best practices by creating and updating workflow diagrams, documentation, and facilitating demos.
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, project managers, business leaders, and executive sponsors.
Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams to ensure project success.
Work with executive management and other teams on process improvement efforts for the PMO processes.
Continuously evaluate and suggest improvements to PMO processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Analyze performance data to identify trends, risks, and potential opportunities for improvement.
Participate and drive initiatives to drive process automation and digital transformation within the PMO and IT communities in general. Includes the creation, presentation and facilitation of training and materials.
Participate in the development and maintenance of dashboards/reports for leadership, and stakeholders to track key performance indicators of active and proposed projects which UCF IT is undertaking ensuring transparency and accountability through accurate and timely reporting.
Manage enterprise level IT projects from initiation to closure. Develop project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation. Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met. Identify and mitigate project risks and issues. Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and executive leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in project management, IT, or related field.
Experience leading large scale enterprise projects and teams in higher education.
PMP, PgMP, or similar project management certification.
Experience with complex business process improvement, like Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.
Experience running agile projects or teams.
Experience leading and developing performance management reports and dashboards.
Experience with governance and portfolio management process implementation and execution.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
Master's degree preferred.
Experience with Workday implementations.
Experience coaching students or interns.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:
This is not a remote position. Up to 1-3 hybrid workdays per week may be available following a probationary period, depending on work duties, supervisory approval, and university policy.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $98,000 to $122,700. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
