Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Assistant Manager - Macdonald Campus Recreation, the Personal Trainer may perform some or all of the listed functions. These functions are of high complexity and the incumbent performs them using general instructions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate activities to achieve both group and individual fitness goals
Deliver engaging fitness training for group classes and one-on-one sessions
Conduct fitness assessments, including body composition evaluations
Ensure participants perform activities safely, using proper posture and techniques
Lead and supervise participants to support safe engagement in fitness activities
Provide alternative participation options for individuals with health limitations
Enforce and adhere to all safety protocols, including emergency procedures
Perform additional tasks as required, beyond those listed above
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
First Aid and CPR C Certification (recommended)
Personal Trainer certification (eg CanFit Pro, ISSA, NASM) - MUST BE CURRENT
