Job Description The Woods College of Advancing Studies at Boston College is seeking a student-focused, Assistant Director of Admissions to join our growing admissions and enrollment team. This individual will play a key role in the recruitment, counseling, and enrollment of prospective graduate students, while also contributing to operational efficiencies and system enhancements—particularly within the Slate CRM.
As a primary contact for prospective and admitted students, this position requires a passion for service, a talent for communication, and a deep understanding of the graduate admissions lifecycle. The Assistant Director will support recruitment and enrollment efforts on and off campus, provide critical operational support, and collaborate with internal partners to ensure a smooth and responsive student experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Enrollment:
- Counsel prospective students on academic programs, admissions requirements, and enrollment processes across all stages of the admissions funnel.
- Conduct applicant interviews and review application materials for Admissions Committee deliberation.
- Participate in and support the Admissions Committee in evaluating candidates for admission.
- Represent the Woods College at local and national graduate recruitment fairs and events.
Plan and deliver compelling in-person and virtual presentations to prospective students and partners. - Support prospective students with essential enrollment steps, including submitting forms and connecting with advisors.
- Assist in developing and executing recruitment strategies and targeted marketing efforts.
- Use data insights to support outreach planning and improve conversion throughout the funnel.
- Ensure accurate interpretation and consistent communication of admissions policies and procedures.
Operations & Systems:
- Serve as a key contributor to the management and maintenance of Slate CRM.
- Execute and optimize communication workflows, marketing campaigns, and prospective student engagement within the CRM.
- Maintain admission reports, funnel data, and other performance metrics to support strategic decision-making.
- Act as a liaison between Admissions and academic departments to facilitate smooth student onboarding and enrollment processes.
- Stay current with system updates and CRM best practices to improve efficiency and the prospective student experience.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Contribute digital content (social media, video, web) to promote admissions and financial aid information.
- Assist with event planning and occasional evening/Saturday operations.
- Provide general office support and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree required
- One year of previous experience working in admissions, student services, or similar settings in higher education.
- Familiarity with customer relationship management systems, particularly Slate, strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to student service.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Data-driven mindset with analytical and reporting skills.
- Valid U.S. drivers license
