QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include:
- A minimum of three (3) years of proven clerical and bookkeeping work experience;
- Ability to be highly organized with excellent attention to detail;
- Self-starter with solid language, grammar and spelling skills;
- Possess an outgoing personality, who enjoys interacting with the public, either in person or on the telephone;
- Comfortable in high pressure/stressful situations and, at times, interacting with disgruntled listeners;
- Proven experience with Microsoft Office and Windows applications with emphasis on Excel, Quick Books, and the Internet;
- Proven experience with routine office equipment including fax machines;
- Ability to work independently as well as with others and be self-motivated;
- Ability to interact with all types of individuals, via telephone and in-person, including college administrators, faculty, staff, general public, volunteers and students on a regular basis;
- Valid Florida driver’s license;
The following is preferred:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited institution;
- Familiarity with radio broadcast operations, broadcast promotions, equipment, and procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Working closely with the IRSC Public Media General Manager on budgetary items;
- Assisting the IRSC Public Media Development/Financial Coordinator on fundraising projects;
- Assisting the Underwriting Account Executives on monthly invoicing of underwriters, both by telephone and in-person;
- Handling clerical and bookkeeping duties relating to IRSC Public Media fundraising, underwriting, and budgetary activities;
- Participating in promotional and outreach activities;
- Assisting in creating and preparing daily program logs;
- Interacting with the public, station guests, and clients.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining bookkeeping records on underwriting, membership, tower rentals, and the stations’ day-to-day budget functions;
- Processing checks and credit card donations related to underwriting, membership, and tower rentals;
- Handling monthly billing for underwriting and tower rentals to include periodic production services to outside clients;
- Inputting information for station requisitions;
- Monitoring P-Card activities and verifying monthly reports for Accounts Payable;
- Maintaining cash flow and purchased items for the IRSC Public Media annual budget;
- Working with the IRSC Public Media Development/Financial Coordinator on membership mailings and on-air fundraising announcements;
- Assisting loading of programs into the automation system;
- Assisting daily program logs for IRSC Public Media;
- Assisting inputting underwriting contracts, public service announcements, and other on-air promotions for the daily schedule;
- Assisting in handling station automation systems for scheduling;
- Assisting in reviewing on-air issues, such as troubleshooting problems and reviewing discrepancies;
- Assisting in reviewing on-air issues, as assigned;
- Assisting with listener inquiries as well as telephone and front door duties as assigned;
- Completing other duties and responsibilities as assigned;
- Normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM; however, the schedule is subject to change based upon the needs of IRSC Public Media. This position also requires working evenings and weekends as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires an ability to sit, stand for prolonged periods of time, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the college.
