Position Summary
Program Director for Nurse Anesthesia Program. Will work 4 days per week at Barnes-Jewish College, Goldfarb School of Nursing and 1 day per week in the WashU Department of Anesthesiology as a clinical CRNA. This person reports to both leadership within Goldfarb School of Nursing as well as Wash U Medicine, specifically the Chair of the Anesthesiology Department.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs in administrative duties, didactic teaching responsibilities at the College and clinical teaching responsibilities in the OR.
Recruit, hire and coordinate orientation of CRNAs.
Evaluate CRNA performance with division chiefs.
Manage personnel issues involving CRNAs. Discuss any disciplinary actions with chair.
Administer anesthesia as assigned by the pod leader and coordinate daily CRNA assignments with pod leaders.
Meet with scheduling personnel to coordinate CRNA scheduling.
Meet with the chair and clinical director of anesthesia to plan CRNA staffing needs.
Member of BJH Allied Health Professional Credentials Committee, Department of Anesthesiology CRNA Peer Review Committee, Department of Anesthesiology Quality Assurance Committee, and Member of the Program Evaluation Committee, BJH College of Nursing, Nurse Anesthetist Program.
Coordinate staffing needs with division chiefs at all facilities managed by the WashU Department of Anesthesiology.
