What You'll Do:
The People Development Partner is a strong and motivated individual who designs and builds development opportunities and consults to enhance competencies and effectiveness for a variety of WGU audiences. This individual contributes to analyzing, designing, developing, and evaluating learning and performance improvement solutions to close performance and skill gaps. They partner and assist with highly confidential talent management activities. This individual is responsible for learners' success in achieving learning objectives and providing data-driven results to management. The People Development Partner creates and collaborates on learning and performance improvement solutions and tools (in-person and virtual learning experiences, e-learning, job aids, coaching, learning management systems and other learning technologies).
Main Responsibilities Include:
Conducts needs analysis on projects of all levels of complexity and collaborates to develop and maintain learning experiences for faculty and staff.
Facilitates effective instruction and discussions regarding new and current training materials. Provides feedback to the People Development team on solutions’ effectiveness in changing behavior and achieving business results.
Serves as a model for carrying out WGU’s mission and strategic vision, consistently exhibiting WGU Leadership Principles in all aspects of service to students, employees, and partners of WGU.
May develop training materials, assessments, surveys, and other tools for measuring the effectiveness of training.
Collaborates effectively through diverse avenues with a variety of management, team members, and employees throughout the organization.
Participates in analyzing, selecting, and integrating technologies into learning solutions and teaches others to effectively utilize technology and adapt to changes in technology to support essential job functions.
Collaborates with their leadership in determining appropriate actions for atypical situations or developments outside the scope of the originally assigned project.
Engages in creative problem-solving to drive continuous improvement. Assists management in identifying development needs of employees and leaders within WGU.
Models leadership and professionalism at all times. Takes initiative and is self-managed with specific project assignments.
Demonstrates accuracy and professionalism throughout their daily operations.
Provides operational learning & development support for in-person, online, and asynchronous learning events.
Promotes and drives usage of People Development solutions.

Minimum Requirements:
3+ years of instructional design experience with Bachelor’s degree.
Proficient use of educational technology platforms and common software packages, such as an LMS System, MS Office and SharePoint.
Knowledge of, and experience with applying distance-learning and adult-learning principles.
Experience in course and curriculum development.
Acceptable level of internet connectivity to allow full participation in learning & development activities, according to the WGU Employee Handbook.
Preferred Qualifications:
4+ years recent experience or Master's degree (or equivalent).
Experience with learning and course authoring software (e.g., Rise, Storyline).
Familiarity with visual design principles and software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
