School of Physical & Occupational Therapy
Position Summary:
Review cadaveric anatomy with Physical Therapy (PT) and Occupational Therapy (OT) clinicians during a half- day anatomy workshop. Lab helpers will be responsible for one station each
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate all of the anatomical structures to clinicians with the use of prosections
Differentiate identified structures from adjacent structures
Prepare quiz questions and quiz students about the anatomical structures, concerning: attachment points (origin, insertion), innervation (nerve, nerve roots), and function;
Answer questions related to the clinical relevance of the anatomical structures for either PT or OT, with reference to material taught at the School and, if applicable, to clinical experience from prior clinical placements
Provide clinical insight on predetermined anatomical structures and discuss potential implications of injury/ degeneration of these structures for specific populations.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
BSc in Rehabilitation Science (PT or OT)
Must have previous laboratory experience in human anatomy on topics relevant to the course description.
Previous experience as a UCA for ANAT 315/316 an asset
Or previous work as a prosector in the anatomy lab or anatomy tutor
Clinical experience in hand therapy or pelvic floor physiotherapy
