SCC invites qualified candidates to apply for our Instructional Equipment Coordinator position. This role provides leadership and coordination for academic programs within the technical programs including developing, implementing, and evaluating educational curriculum and instructional methods to enhance the quality of teaching and learning within the college, focusing on student success. Works closely with the Program Coordinators and Department Chairs, Assistant Dean, Academic Dean and other senior staff to ensure quality academic programs and services supporting college expectations, core values and mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical Maintenance and Repair: video production studio equipment, IT networking systems, Windows and Apple computers, printers, plotters, image-mounting equipment and engineering lab equipment.
- Classroom Support: Software and hardware support and troubleshooting in classrooms across the School of Business, Technology and Performing Arts.
- Instruction: Teach multimedia, graphic design, business technology, computer science, or information technology courses as needed up to 49% of the time. Provide technical training and support to faculty, staff, and students on the proper use of network, video, audio, and computer equipment.
- Collaborative and Communication: Work closely with faculty and staff to understand their technical needs and provide appropriate solutions. Communicate effectively with the IT department to ensure seamless operation of all systems.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of equipment, repairs, and maintenance activities. Create and update user manuals, guides, and documentation for common technical procedures related to equipment.
- Project Leadership: Take the lead on projects in the School of Business, Technology, and Performing Arts. Examples may include but not be limited to the operation and scheduling of the Podcasting Booth, and the campus-wide use, operation, and scheduling of the Mark Twain Imaginarium.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in one of the following areas: Multimedia, Graphic Design, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience.
- Proven experience in maintaining and repairing video equipment, IT networking systems, power tools, and classroom technology.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Apple operating systems.
- Preferred: Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Adobe Certified Associate).
- Preferred: Experience in a higher education environment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- May supervise student workers/lab monitors.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Generally, reports to the Academic Dean, Assistant Dean, or Director, but may vary upon organizational need.
