Department Summary-
Position SummaryUnder the general supervision of the Associate Director of Student Affairs, incumbent will support a variety of Summer Sessions-led credit-bearing programs designed for visiting high school students to supplement and enhance the overall UCLA precollege experience. Working in conjunction with the Summer Sessions Student Affairs and Analyst teams, incumbent ensures effective and efficient delivery of student services that meet a variety of the demands and expectations of diverse constituencies of the campus, and ensures student compliance with all relevant UCLA academic and behavioral standards. Implements and supports policies and training programs for precollege residential and program staff and ensure the safe arrival and supervision of participants in precollege programs. Addresses discipline and safety issues following protocols based on the Student Conduct Code, Residential Life rules and regulations, and Summer Sessions policies and standards. Leads student misconduct and other incident investigations and reviews judicial affairs data in order to make recommendations regarding disciplinary actions and other penalties as necessary. Responsibilities require an ability to work independently and collegially, and a willingness to serve a diverse population of students, academic departments, and other campus units. Assists with program and student emergencies, particularly for those living in residence halls as part of their summer programming, requiring schedule flexibility. Serves as a liaison with other campus and external units such as individual academic departments, Conference Services, the Ashe Health Center, Office of Residential Life, and Housing Services, among others, as needed. Assesses the delivery of student services and make recommendations for improvement. Also provides customer service, programmatic, and general/overall support for the Office of Summer Sessions.
