Nursing Full Time Faculty - Instructor/Professor - ASN Program Description
South College is opening a new Campus in Farmers Branch, TX and is conducting a search for the position of ASN faculty (instructor/assistant professor/associate professor; commensurate with experience) for the South College School of Nursing. The position will have primary teaching responsibilities in the ASN in Nursing; however, may cross programs depending on educational level.
The South College School of Nursing is a growing program offering hybrid track courses as well. While hybrid courses may offer online delivery of didactic lecture materials, the track may also require some weekend lab on ground time. Faculty may be asked to lead courses and labs with weekend rotations as needed.
Responsibilities
- Maintain professional standards of practice in teaching in the classroom and in clinical settings.
- Meet South College standards for course syllabi creation and submission, classroom management, use of technology, grade submission, and records management.
- Function as a part of South College and South College School of Nursing faculty group. Participate in meetings, projects, recruiting, and committee work.
- Prepare and implement teaching and evaluation strategies for engagement of students in the profession of nursing.
- Support student success through mentoring, tutoring, and advising.
- Maintain currency in education and nursing knowledge and application through continuing education activities.
- Contribute to the School of Nursing and South College evaluation processes to measure outcomes
Requirements
Education
- Master’s Degree in Nursing
- Hold an unrestricted license to practice in Texas or in one of the eNLC compact states.
Skills
- Two calendar years or the equivalent of full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse
- Preference given to candidates with prior teaching experience.
