Position Description
The Internship Faculty/Assistant Professor Experiential Learning, prepares, guides and teaches students through the process of completing three, separate required experiential learning internships. Internship faculty also identify and evaluate internship sites by building and maintaining relationships with industry partners.
This position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Endicott College Faculty Association (ECFA) and Endicott College. ECFA is a faculty union organized under the NEA.
Housed within the School of Social Sciences, Communication, and Humanities (SSC&H), this position will support the experiential learning experience of students from psychology, social sciences, and/or other disciplines as assigned.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching and grading internship courses.
Maintaining contact with students throughout the internship process.
Communicating with departments and schools regarding the internship program
Maintaining necessary records and analyzing and reporting the internship data.
Identifying and evaluating internship sites through building and maintaining relationships with industry partners.
Assisting in the coordination of internship programs and events.
Collaborating with the Career Center to advance student career development and outcomes.
Attend School meetings.
Participates in accreditation processes.
Engage in scholarship/professional development to stay current within the field of experiential learning
Participates in department, school, and/or college service.
Be available to meet with students via appointment.
Requirements/Qualifications
Master’s or equivalent experience required.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite and LMS platforms.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to people and display sensitivity to their needs and work on a team.
Excellent customer service skills for all stakeholders: internship sites; students; families; and faculty and staff.
Excellent organizational, management, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Flexibility and ability to multitask.
High degree of accuracy and ability to follow through is essential.
Prior experience in higher education, career services, and experiential learning, internship/co-op services preferred.
Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
Desire to work in a student – centered, teaching oriented institution.
