About the Role
The Associate Director, Health Services is responsible for the programs and services of the Health Services unit of Health & Counselling Services (HCS) across all Simon Fraser University campuses. The role participates in and provides recommendations for departmental and unit strategic planning, develops departmental policies and procedures, participates in the development and administration of operating budgets, and creates performance development plans for direct reports, and manages the day-to-day operations of the health clinics. The role provides health education and outreach to the University community and liaises with faculty and staff across the University and Fraser International College (FIC) as well as with community agencies, external colleagues, associations, and stakeholders. The role facilitates ongoing communication and collaboration and oversees the services to students that focus on holistic well-being, general medical care, general nursing care, sexual health, and mental health. The role provides leadership to public health issues that would affect the university community, as directed by the health authority. The role leads innovation and the adoption of best practice within the Health Services team and is an integral strategic and support to the Senior Director, Student Affairs (Wellness) and HCS leadership team in meeting the needs of the SFU and FIC populations served.

Qualifications
Master's Degree in Health Sciences, Public Policy, Business or equivalent and five years related experience working in a primary care setting including in a medical/surgical environment and supervisory experience, CPR Certification, Level C or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of supporting individuals from diverse populations from equity-deserving groups recognizing the diversity of experience based on gender identity, sexuality, race, age, class, family status, disability, Indigeneity, immigration status, language, religion, national or ethnic origin, and intersecting identities.
- Excellent knowledge of adolescent/young adult health and well-being.
- Strong understanding of how mental health concerns intersect with medical care for patients.
- Strong functional understanding of electronic health record systems, policies and ability to align and manage. clinical and business processes to be accurately reflected in the system.
