Office Coordinator, Graduate Student Association
The Graduate Students' Association (GSA) is seeking dedicated and organized Office Coordinators to support our day-to-day operations and ensure smooth office functionality.
The GSA represents over 4,000 graduate students at the University of Saskatchewan, offering professional, academic, and social services while advocating for student needs. We are committed to fostering a welcoming and supportive learning environment for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students, honoring the ancestors of this land and reaffirming our shared relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Support GSA booked events, orientations and sessions at GSA Commons or off-site. Coordinate and run weekly student events (ie: movie, trivia, game nights)
- Open and close the office as required including furniture movement, light cleaning, general upkeep of the commons and office spaces, perform other duties as required
- Converse with event convenor to coordinate event logistics, maintain event calendars and records, perform billing and rental agreements
- Answering phone calls, taking messages, monitoring and responding to emails, processing membership payments, referring students to Executives or University services and assisting students with inquiries
- Assist the GSA Executives and Operations Manager with various administrative tasks
Qualifications:
- Must be a registered student in the College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at the University of Saskatchewan and maintain enrollment throughout employment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to work independently and multitask efficiently
- Proficiency in office software and basic IT troubleshooting skills
Work Type & Compensation:
- Work Type: Casual position with no minimum hours. Day, evening & weekend availability required
- Hourly Rate: $23.57 (Aligned with Public Service Alliance of Canada Collective Bargaining Agreement for graduate students, though this position is not within a bargaining unit)
