Position SummaryThe Program Advisor, Transfer Student Center serves as Program Advisor for the UCLA Yardi Scholars, a unit within First To Go Program, working under the guidance of the Executive Director for Career and Immersive Experiences. The Program Advisor manages the development and execution of the Yardi Scholars program by coordinating academic and enrichment initiatives, providing individualized support, and fostering campus partnerships to promote scholars' academic, personal, and professional growth. Collaborate with campus stakeholders and the Yardi Foundation to assess program outcomes, address student challenges, and expand effective strategies to benefit first-generation students across UCLA. This role oversees the experience and development of all UCLA Yardi Scholars, which includes 25 students every year, providing personalized support to help them access resources, overcome challenges, and excel in their academic and professional journeys.

Qualifications3+ Years of relevant work experience. (Required) Demonstrated abilty to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and external partners. (Required)Skills in judgement and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measure of system performance and actions to improve performance. (Required)Strong organizational and program coordination skills. (Required)Working knowledge of advising and counseling techniques. (Required)Ability to interact effectively with a diverse populations including students, faculty, administrators, family members, and the general community, from a variety of cultural, educational, and socioeconomic backgrounds. (Required)Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. (Required)Ability to work independently. (Required)Demonstrated ability to develop, plan, and manage large and small-scale programs and events. (Preferred)Working knowledge of University protocols, procedures, and policies regarding programming, event-management, and liability. (Preferred)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training (Required) Master's degree in counseling or education (Preferred)
