Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Office of Sponsored Programs and Research Administration is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Assistant (GA) to support key administrative, communication, and programmatic functions. The GA will support EKU’s three Research Fellowship faculty to enhance the university’s research initiative for faculty and students.
Minimum Qualifications
- Full time Graduate Student (registered for 9 graduate hours or more)
- Minimum GPA 3.0 or higher
- Clear or provisional admission to a degree seeking program (Certs and non-degree do not qualify).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with digital collaboration tools (e.g.,
Google Workspace, Zoom)
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple responsibilities.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
Job Duties:
- 50% - Support data collection and reporting initiatives related to research administration, Provide administrative support such as research, taking notes/minutes at various meetings, and maintaining digital records. - (Essential)
- 25% - Serve as a graduate student representative on EKU’s Graduate Council, Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives aligned with the Graduate Education and Research Administration mission. - (Essential)
- 25% - Draft and edit communication materials, Maintain statistics for data reporting and help facilitate award status reporting. - (Essential)

Special Instructions: This position works 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semester and receives a partial tuition waiver (6 credit hours) and a stipend of $5,600 per semester. At the conclusion of the Fall 2025 semester, performance will be evaluated for possible continuation into Spring 2026 semester and beyond.
