Job Summary/Basic Functions
The School of Safety, Security & Emergency Management at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a part-time faculty position to teach dual credit courses in Emergency Medical Care.
Courses may include, but are not limited to:
EMC 104, EMC 105, EMC 110, EMC 300
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications for faculty teaching undergraduate courses:
Must hold doctoral/terminal (for EMC masters is terminal)
OR masters in teaching discipline or related field
OR master’s degree with a concentration in teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline)
OR bachelor's degree with ten years of experience
Current Kentucky Board of EMS Instructor Endorsement at Level 2 or Level 3
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in the specific course level being assigned
Demonstrated expertise in emergency medical services and educational instruction
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver comprehensive EMS training programs
Provide high-quality instruction in emergency medical service courses
Assess and evaluate student performance and competency
Maintain current knowledge of EMS protocols, techniques, and best practices
Ensure compliance with Kentucky Board of EMS educational standards
Prepare educational materials and course documentation
Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students
Requirements:
Valid Level 2 or Level 3 Instructor Endorsement from the Kentucky Board of EMS
Minimum of 2 years of instructional experience in the assigned course level
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to create engaging and effective learning environments
Commitment to professional development and ongoing education
Part-time faculty may teach up to nine credit hours, depending on departmental needs.
