Job Description
- Leads and manages a team of training professionals responsible for delivering high-quality mentor training and certification programs.
- Collaborates closely with university mentor leadership—including Mentor Strategy and Mentor Operations—to identify, prioritize, and address system-wide mentor development needs.
- Manages a dynamic portfolio of mentor training initiatives that align with university goals, ensuring consistent delivery and measurable outcomes.
- Develops and executes strategic training plans that support short- and long-term mentoring goals, in partnership with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Designs and delivers training content that supports continuous improvement in mentoring quality, engagement, and effectiveness.
- Leads the implementation of large-scale, university-wide training initiatives, using best practices in instructional design, change management, and project planning.
- Monitors the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessment, and performance data, and make data-informed improvements.
- Serves as a training consultant to internal stakeholders and external partners, providing guidance and insight on mentoring best practices and learning strategies.
- Stays abreast of trends in mentoring, coaching, adult learning, and training technology to continually innovate and evolve offerings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated experience managing a portfolio of training programs and aligning them to strategic organizational goals.
- Strong strategic planning skills with a track record of implementing institution-wide training initiatives.
- Exceptional facilitation and communication skills for both virtual and in-person settings.
- Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate across functions and levels of an organization.
- Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently.
- Deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and the diverse needs of learners and mentors.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% for team events, training delivery, or summits. Overnight stays may be necessary
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience
- 5 years of experience in training or instructional design, including experience developing and delivering training on complex topics.
- 2 years of leadership or management experience, including direct supervision and coaching of training teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred in education, instructional design, organizational development, or a related field
- Prosci Change Practitioner certification
- Coaching or trainer certification
- Instructional Design certification or comparable experience
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- E-learning design and implementation experience.
