The Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs provides oversight to UCF's academic enterprise, including the university's 12 colleges and academic administrative units. The Office of Integrated Academic Planning leads and fosters a university-wide culture of comprehensive planning. Integrated Academic Planning brings together academic, research, technology, space and resource planning throughout the academic enterprise into one cohesive plan in support of strategic priorities and university goals.
The Opportunity:
The Business Data Analyst II plays a key role in supporting the Integrated Academic Planning unit within the Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs. The position is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting both qualitative and quantitative data to inform strategic and departmental decision-making. The Business Data Analyst II will apply best practices in data analysis and reporting to support academic planning initiatives and institutional priorities. The role reports directly to the Senior Manager for Operations and Integrated Academic Planning.
Responsibilities:
Develops and implements information-gathering processes and reporting templates to aid in the collection of data and reports. Collaborates with university stakeholders to successfully develop these.
Compiles data using internal and external databases in support of project and report priorities.
Analyzes and interprets data to produce comprehensive reports that support the advancement of strategic priorities.
Collaborates with Analytics and Integrated Planning and other university stakeholders to streamline data reporting, establish and modify dashboards and develop reporting timelines.
Utilizes data to develop clear and concise visual representations for reports and presentations.
Utilizes predictive modeling to forecast trends and outcomes to support integrated academic planning.
Supports special projects to support the mission of the department and advance department priorities.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree or certification in Data Analytics, Finance, or other relevant field.
Familiarity with data concepts (metrics, KPIs, tables) and exposure to analytics tools, including Tableau, Excel, Power BI.
Understanding of UCF organizational structures, processes, and policies.
Experience working in higher education.
Experience with Workday or similar ERP systems.
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interact with staff and leadership at all levels of an organization.
