Position Summary
The Senior Manager of Medical Education Programs is responsible for the strategic oversight, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the department’s medical education programs. This individual ensures compliance with accreditation standards, fosters collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and supports continuous program improvement. The Senior Manager provides leadership to a team of education professionals and serves as a key advisor on matters related to learner support and program operations.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Program Oversight and Administration
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of medical education programs.
- Ensure programs comply with ACGME or any other accreditation requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between program directors, vice chairs, hospital partners, and central offices.
- Develop and implement systems to monitor and evaluate program outcomes and learner performance.
- Direct education related administrative activities, including managing education related events and seminars, and ensuring coordination of activities with department central administration and other stakeholders.
- Implements and maintains oversight of curriculum management system. Manage coordination with administrative staff and IT to ensure that all online education related information remains organized and up to date. Ensures that the program is in full compliance with ACGME and GMEC standards and policies.
Strategic Planning and Development
- Drive implementation of department strategic initiatives regarding education in partnership with Program Director(s), senior departmental education leadership. Establish goals for programs and prioritizing resources required to achieve these goals.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to establish strategic goals and initiatives aligned with institutional priorities.
- Drive innovation in educational delivery, curriculum design, assessment, and learner experience.
- Participate in the strategic planning process and provides subject matter expertise in education related topics
- Conduct needs assessments and program evaluations to support continuous improvement.
Team Leadership and Supervision
- Supervise and mentor a team of coordinators, specialists, and administrative staff.
- Provide professional development opportunities and performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and progressive team culture.
- Supervise education team directly.
- Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports and ensure all workforce members receive regular feedback, evaluations and development.
- Implements process improvement programs to increase productivity of staff while advancing the educational experience of trainees and administrative support of faculty.
Budget and Resource Management
- Develop and manage budgets for assigned programs.
- Identify and secure resources, including technology and instructional tools, to support educational initiatives.
- Tracks routine and unusual expense trends, identifies opportunities to improve performance consistent with department goals.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with faculty, residents, students, and academic leadership to support a high-quality learning environment.
- Represent the department on institutional committees and in external professional organizations.
- Communicate effectively with regulatory bodies, accrediting agencies, and affiliate institutions.
- Works closely with program directors in all areas to assess overall program performance and address identified needs, which includes aiding program directors in preparing accreditation and other documentation.
- Maintain subject matter expertise through attendance of relevant educational/professional society meetings.

Salary Range
$75,200.00 - $128,800.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
