USNH seeks an experienced and proactive leader to serve as the Workday Finance Operations & Technology Lead. This hybrid role combines technical administration of the Workday Financials platform with operational leadership of the Finance Service Center. The ideal candidate will stabilize current support operations, reduce the service backlog, and lead the continuous optimization of system performance, configuration, and user experience.
You will work cross-functionally with Finance, IT, and campus stakeholders to ensure that Workday Financials supports USNH’s strategic goals, while also establishing a sustainable and responsive support model for finance operations.
Duties/Responsibilities
System Configuration & Optimization
Configure, maintain, and enhance Workday Financial modules (e.g., GL, AP, AR, Procurement, Budgeting), including Adaptive Planning.
Drive adoption of new Workday features and optimize system workflows, dashboards, and reporting capabilities.
Lead configuration changes based on evolving business requirements and performance improvement goals.
Finance Service Center Management
Oversee daily service operations including triage, assignment, and resolution of support tickets via TeamDynamix.
Establish structured Tier 0/Tier 1/Tier 2 support protocols, escalation pathways, and team assignments.
Create sustainable support workflows and foster a service-oriented culture focused on accountability and transparency.
Data Integrity & Compliance
Own data governance and integrity across all Workday Financial modules.
Conduct data audits, reconciliations, and compliance reviews; manage integrations and data flows to/from external systems.
Collaborate with audit and internal control teams to meet regulatory and policy requirements.
Training, Documentation & Enablement
Deliver role-based training and materials to empower Finance staff and improve ticket quality.
Enable knowledge-sharing by building a searchable knowledge base and response templates.
Serve as liaison between business units and technical teams to resolve recurring pain points.
Ticketing & Performance Management
Promote ticket discipline and hygiene across the Finance team (e.g., accurate categorization, metadata, and closures).
Monitor backlog trends, resolution timelines, and KPIs to guide continuous improvement and leadership reporting.
Champion dashboard-driven decision-making at all support levels.
Project & Change Leadership
Lead or contribute to system improvement projects including upgrades, new functionality, and process redesigns.
Support change management and stakeholder engagement across campuses and functional groups.
Document system and process changes, and align them with strategic priorities.
Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field
5+ years of experience in Workday Financials system administration and finance operations leadership
Experience with service center models, ticketing systems (TeamDynamix strongly preferred), and backlog reduction
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proven success developing and delivering highly polished and accurate C-Level presentations
Knowledge of financial processes and reporting in higher education
Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills
Workday Financials certifications and prior implementation experience are highly desirable.
