The University System of New Hampshire (USNH) is seeking an experienced and strategic Workday Reporting Lead to serve as the enterprise-wide leader for Workday reporting across HCM, Financials, Adaptive Planning, and the newly implemented Workday Student system. This role is responsible for building a sustainable, collaborative, and high-quality reporting environment that meets the operational, regulatory, and strategic decision-making needs of USNH and its member institutions.
The Reporting Lead will work closely with functional leaders, IT, data governance teams, and campus stakeholders to manage the report lifecycle—from intake and development through validation, deployment, and ongoing support. This position plays a key role in driving reporting excellence and ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and usability across the Workday platform.
Enterprise Reporting Leadership
Serve as the central point of accountability for Workday reporting across all pillars: Student, HCM, Financials, and Adaptive Planning.
Establish and maintain a comprehensive report inventory, categorizing reports by use case, audience, and functional ownership.
Define and enforce enterprise standards for report development, validation, documentation, and version control.
Stakeholder Partnership
Collaborate with functional teams across Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Records, Finance, HR, Institutional Research, and campus leadership to identify and prioritize reporting needs.
Facilitate cross-functional reporting workgroups to ensure alignment on data definitions, usage, and formatting standards.
Build and maintain strong relationships with campus-based report writers and power users.
Report Development and Governance
Lead or oversee development of key reports and dashboards using Workday’s suite of tools, including Report Writer, Composite Reports, Discovery Boards, Worksheets, and dashboards.
Implement and manage a formal intake and prioritization process for reporting requests, including change control for existing reports.
Develop and execute a quality assurance and validation process that includes stakeholder review and data accuracy testing.
Training and Enablement
Develop and deliver training sessions and resources to enable self-service reporting by functional teams, super users, and campus staff.
Create a reporting knowledge base and maintain clear documentation of reporting standards, templates, and examples.
Promote best practices in data visualization and storytelling to improve report usability and impact.
Cross-System Alignment
Ensure consistency and integration of reporting across Workday modules and third-party systems (e.g., LMS, CRM, financial aid platforms).
Partner with data governance, security, and integration teams to ensure secure, consistent, and compliant data access across the enterprise.
Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with 5+ years of proven expertise in developing and managing enterprise-level reports—preferably within Workday (HCM, FIN, Student, and/or Adaptive Planning).
Strong understanding of business processes in higher education, especially across HR, Finance, and Student Administration.
Demonstrated experience with Workday reporting tools (including Report Writer, Composite Reports, Discovery Boards, and Worksheets).
Experience defining and implementing reporting governance frameworks and standards.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with a user-centered design mindset.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Direct experience supporting or leading reporting in a Workday Student implementation or post-go-live environment.
Knowledge of higher education compliance and reporting requirements (e.g., IPEDS, NSLDS, SEVIS, Title IV, state financial aid reporting).
Familiarity with Adaptive Planning report structures and budget modeling.
Experience establishing or participating in a reporting center of excellence.
