An Instructional Designer's job is to create effective and engaging learning experiences that help learners achieve their goals. They work with subject matter experts to identify training needs and design learning materials, activities, and assessments. Candidates must have strong writing experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Strong collaborative and writing skills, including a solid understanding of typography, composition, and use of color.
Ensure interactive experiences are consistent, responsive, intuitive, and accessible from end to end.
Ability to design and write according to WCAG & ADA Compliance Standards.
Produce wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, and hi-fidelity designs.
Use design processes to take projects through stages (e.g. problem definition, usability principles, research, ideation, mock-ups and prototyping).
Shepherd designs through all stages of production and ensures it stays true to design intent and meets quality standards.
Well organized with the ability to manage digital assets. Introduce innovative solutions and effectively leverage technology to deliver instructional goals.
Communicate status and risks to project leaders and partners.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to other members of the team.
Keep current with technology trends and best practices
Collaborate with academic partners and other team members such as project managers, academic resources, editors, learning technologists, and interactive media developers to revise and create new courses that are effective, highly engaging, and meet quality standards.
Assist video producers, writers and senior management in researching and creating media projects from concept to completion.
Job Skills:

Aptitude for learning new software applications and technologies
Understanding of user-centered design and usability.
Strong prioritization and time management skills to balance multiple demands.
Demonstrated attention to detail and good communication skills
Working knowledge of interactive media design and video production.
Work Experience:
Familiar with Web Standards technologies with at least 3 years of experience with creating solutions with HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, and e-authoring tools.
