Job Summary
The Senior Associate Director, Reunions, Student, and Recent Alumni Engagement is responsible for developing and managing reunion volunteer committees with a focus on peer-to-peer outreach, alumni engagement strategies, and data management. Primarily works to expand the comprehensive, strategic, dynamic, peer-led reunion program that integrates class-based alumni relations programming and giving participation. Also engages alumni based on graduation affiliation through the online engagement platform, Chicago Booth Connect. Working under the supervision of the Director, Reunions, Student, and Recent Alumni Engagement, coordinates development strategies with the Annual Fund team and the University to implement a full range of programs designed to identify and cultivate students and alumni in meaningful ways that transition into engaged volunteers and donors. This position also supports department-wide volunteer stewardship and cultivation strategies.
This position is based in Chicago and requires occasional work in the evenings and on weekends.
Responsibilities
- Identifies, recruits, trains, and manages reunion volunteers, acts as liaison for reunion committees.
- Builds strong relationships with volunteer reunion committees and communicates frequently with these key alumni.
- Leads and manages reunion volunteer committees, strategic outreach materials and messaging, events, and meetings.
- Works with reunion program chairs to identify and recruit committee volunteers for each class reunion.
- Works with reunion committees to plan additional class-specific events throughout the reunion weekend.
- Serves as a resource for alumni leaders and volunteers in their efforts to organize events and strengthen the Booth community.
- Develops strategies to achieve 100% committee participation.
- Works with the Annual Fund in developing strategies to achieve 100% committee participation.
- In partnership with the Marketing/Communications team, assists with creating and managing a comprehensive reunion engagement strategy using broadcast emails, print-based collateral materials, and social media.
- Manages reunion website edits.
- Manages various data reporting for reunion reports, list requests, mailings, etc.
- Publishes updated information on reunion volunteer classes via social media platforms in Griffin.
- Assists with tracking reunion volunteer engagement reporting and evaluation.
- Builds and maintains relationships with campus partners, maintaining a high level of communication and service.
- Works with University Relationship Managers to identify prospects in each class as volunteers.
- Develops, implements, and executes a strategy to grow and strengthen class-based engagement and philanthropy of alumni as they engage in Chicago Booth Connect.
- Develops, implements, and executes a strategy to integrate Chicago Booth Connect into Reconnect programming.
- Executes strategic initiatives developed by the Director, Students, Reunions, Recent Alumni Engagement to better engage volunteers and add to their experience through stewardship and appreciation.
- Develops process for volunteer pipeline recommendations and referrals among all Booth departments that engage alumni for volunteer initiatives.
- Leads and coordinates the planning, organization, and management of events, programs, and services designed to cultivate and maintain ties between the University of Chicago and key constituent groups. Creates a marketing plan to maximize participation and engagement of alumni, parents, and friends.
- Leads strategic planning, data management, the creation and tracking of metrics, and the creation and implementation of new constituent relations programs worldwide. Measures, tracks, and reports participation and success of initiatives.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.

- A minimum seven years of relevant work experience in fields such as nonprofit management, alumni relations, higher education or a similar field.
Preferred Competencies
- Knowledge of volunteer management, managing programs, website administration, and database management.
- Strong verbal and writing skills, high attention to detail and follow-up, and excellent organizational skills.
- Strong commitment to customer service.
Working Conditions
- This position is currently expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office.
- Travel to campus and/or non-campus locations for University business.
