The Department of Studio and Digital Arts invites applications for a Residential Adjunct Faculty position in Graphic Design. We are seeking a dynamic and professionally engaged designer to join our team of dedicated educators.
General Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in graphic design, including foundational and advanced topics
- Provide students with instruction rooted in professional practice and creative exploration
- Support student learning through thoughtful critique and mentorship
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Graphic Design or a closely related discipline
- Demonstrated professional experience in the design industry
- Demonstrated teaching skills with pedagogical excellence
- A strong portfolio showcasing contemporary, industry-relevant work
- A clear and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, to convey clear, well-articulated information, with the ability to understand, speak, and write in English professionally
- Excellent problem-solving skills with intuitive reasoning and the ability to analyze information/events while applying accurate judgment to solve problems that are both routine and complex
- Flexibility in a swiftly changing environment
- Takes initiative while actively seeking opportunities to develop within a collaborative team environment
- Operate learning management software and other technological tools utilized to facilitate content creation, communication, and planning, including industry-standard software (Adobe in a Mac environment)
- Embrace and foster Liberty University's mission and strictly adhere to policies, representing the university in an exemplary manner
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level
- Proficiency in both print and digital design
- Familiarity with current design tools, practices, and trends
