Ivy Tech Bloomington campus is searching for a full time lab assistant that will provide support for faculty and students in the School of Information Technology programs through laboratory assistance, lab and classroom equipment maintenance, inventory control and documentation, general network and server administration as well as the development of program and lab instruction materials for faculty and students.
This is an hourly position that pays between 18.00-19.50 per hour.

Major Responsibilities:
- Provide helpdesk support to all labs/classrooms in the School of IT’s computer labs and classrooms.
- Keep laboratories safe, clean, and organized and ensure equipment is in operation condition for labs.
- Configure network and lab equipment including but not limited to computers, routers, switches, wireless access points, networked printers, and digital signage.
- Perform basic server and account administration.
- Perform inventory management of classroom and lab equipment, tools, test equipment for locally and grant funded assets.
- Assist Department Chairs in directing the activity of "work study" students and intern students making themselves available to answer questions and administer assistance as needed.
- Participate in community service, service learning, and civic engagement projects and activities as deemed appropriate by supervisor and local leadership.
- All other duties as assigned, consistent with commonly accepted practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates degree in an IT field or a combination of education and professional work experience of 2 years or more is required for the position.
Computer proficiency in hardware/software support, computer networking, and server administration is a must.
Self-motivation, documentation, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
CompTIA’s A+ certification is required.
Experience in virtualization utilizing Hyper-V and/or ProxMox or other virtualization software solutions is a requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additionally preferred, but not required, industry certifications include Cisco’s CCNA, CompTIA’s Net+, Security+, Project+
