JOB PURPOSE
The Undergraduate Admissions Counselor role at Life University is dedicated to connecting, engaging, and enrolling prospective students by building meaningful relationships, understanding their goals, and guiding them through the admissions process. Counselors work collaboratively with prospective students, their families, and other key stakeholders to ensure a seamless experience from application to enrollment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Develop and implement a recruitment plan for assigned territory aligned with enrollment goals.
- Analyze data trends and demographic shifts to optimize outreach efforts.
- Travel extensively during fall, with additional travel in spring/summer to attend high school visits, college fairs, and other recruitment events.
- Regularly evaluate travel effectiveness and provide feedback to improve strategy.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students and their families.
- Deliver engaging presentations on admissions, academic offerings, and student life at Life university.
- Support applicants through the admissions funnel by coordinating communications, providing follow-up, and managing completion activities.
- Participate in holistic application reviews and counsel students on admissions decisions and next steps.
- Monitor and report on key recruitment metrics (inquiries, applications, yield).
- Use CRM and analytics tools to track prospective student interactions and progression.
- Collaborate with leadership to adjust strategies based on data insights.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with high school counselors, community colleges, and community-based organizations.
- Represent Life University at on- and off-campus events and serve as a resource on topics like financial aid, scholarships, housing, and orientation.
- Coordinate and participate in campus visit programs and special events.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Willingness to travel (including nights/weekends)
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Two or more years of experience in college admissions, recruitment, higher education, or related fields
- Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Recruit)
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, travel long distances by car, and work evenings/weekends as needed.
- Must be able to lift and transport materials for events (up to 45 lbs).
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
