Ivy Tech -Valparaiso campus seeks qualified staff with experience in academic enrollment, admission, student retention, and other core student support areas to strengthen our services to the Valparaiso, IN campus's students.
An Early Childhood coordinator must be proficient with Admissions, Registration, Financial Aid, Orientation, Assessment, Business Support, Retention processes, and work effectively & efficiently to resolve escalated issues. Must have in-depth knowledge regarding various areas of the College. Provide knowledge to Early Childhood students about the functions listed above and effectively enroll and transition students into the Ivy Tech community.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assist prospective, applied, and current Early Childhood students, covering a wide range of detailed information.
- Handle incoming calls for the Enrollment Center and Tier 3 SmartView ticket escalations from the Blackboard Answer Center regarding Early Childhood Education.
- Assist Early Childhood Education students in completing online processes including admissions applications and online orientation, including helping them access information in MyIvy, IvyLearn, and other online platforms.
- Answer questions and assist with inquiries and completion of items related to the application for financial aid (FAFSA), verification, loan program eligibility and requirements, standards of progress, state and federal awards, scholarships, work-study opportunities, veteran benefits, Pell lifetime eligibility, and questions regarding the financial implications of repeating coursework.
- Make appropriate referrals to other campus departments and campus resources including, but not limited to: Career Services, Workforce Alignment, Tutoring, and Academics.
- Possess a working knowledge of the various types of student financial assistance programs.
- Manage Early Childhood academic advising case load in a manner that promotes retention, persistence, and student success through proactive interactions and interventions.
- Assist students in the development of an Individualized Academic Plan.
- Monitor student progress through regular meetings, communications, interventions, assessments, and data collection.
- Maintain academic advising records in compliance with College and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree required.
- Two years of relevant experience.
- Must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- This is an in-person position at our campus in Valparaiso, IN.
Bachelors preferred. Prefer at least two years of direct experience in one or more of the following: registration, records, financial aid, admissions, advising, or higher education. Demonstrated leadership qualities preferred.
Work Hours:
Part-time, daytime hours, evenings, and weekends may be required during peak enrollment seasons or as needed.
This is a grant-funded position with funding currently secured through December 31, 2027. Continued employment beyond this date is contingent upon the availability of additional funding. There is no guarantee of extension beyond the current grant period.
