Founded in 1986, St. Charles Community College (SCC) is one of the best two-year colleges in the state of Missouri. SCC serves more than 10,000 students in St. Charles County, a northwestern county outside of St. Louis, MO. SCC's main campus, located in Cottleville, houses 12 award-winning buildings known for innovative, contemporary "educational village" design and spans over 256 acres. A satellite campus is in Dardenne Prairie and features state-of-the-art Center for Healthy Living, encompassing allied health nursing programs, culinary studies, and agriculture studies. POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an Administrative Assistant for the School of Business, Technology, and Workforce Readiness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as the primary contact of information for faculty, students, colleagues, and visitors. Active contributor as a team member of the department in day-to-day operations, including customer service, preparation and distribution of documents, mail distribution, office supply ordering and inventory, equipment monitoring, performing related tasks and contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of the academic school
- Assists the School Coordinator/Assistant Dean or other supervisor with the department's administrative activities by coordinating various administrative processes and projects.
- Establish and maintain various complex interrelated filing systems such as confidential records, and reports.
- Assists with employment processes to varying degrees.
- Enter data such as class assignments, semester schedules, and grades while monitoring registrations.
- Arrange and coordinate meetings, including reserving meeting rooms, sending invitations, and preparing materials and equipment.
- Assist in preparing documents, reports, and presentations, including formatting, proofreading, and ensuring documents meet the required standards.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment; ability to handle multiple projects or duties simultaneously; Ability to responsibly provide assistance to other workers in the unit providing back-up support during busy periods.
- Ability to understand and follow college policies, guidelines, and procedures to meet organizational directives and goals.
- Ability to communicate in a positive and effective manner with diverse, multicultural stakeholders.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- (Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate) degree in X, Y, or Z, or related field
- One (1) to three (3) years' experience in a specified field
- Specified certificate (required or preferred)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Requirement 1... "Normal physical job functions performed in a standard office environment. Position may require occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 20 lbs."
- Requirement 2... "Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer."
