Join our team and make a direct impact on student success! We’re looking for a Recruitment & Retention Specialist to support Adult Education IET (Integrated Education and Training) students from enrollment through completion and transition into postsecondary programs.
In this role, you’ll recruit students, monitor progress, provide advising, and help ensure students have the support and resources they need to succeed.

JOB SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision this position is responsible for supporting recruitment and retention activities, student engagement, academic progression, and leading Adult Education IET (Integrated Education and Training) students through a successful transition into IET and postsecondary programs. Provides students with educational plans, services and resources necessary to complete educational opportunities and degrees.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Provides assistance and support with program implementation, evaluation, writing reports, student services, and disseminating program information to ensure that the program efforts comply with necessary requirements.
- Monitors student performance and follow-ups with students as needed in an effort to promote retention and educational opportunities.
- Works with students in identifying and refining educational and career goals; provides ongoing advisement to students.
- Maintains student records according to standards established by funding agency, department and program.
- Maintains electronic databases for marketing and tracking student progress.
- Works in partnership with Career Pathway Facilitator to recruit IET students.
- Oversees enrollment and participation in the grant activities.
- Ensures a high level of student satisfaction through proactive support and active listening.
- Organizes grant research activities and maintains related records.
- Collects and reviews survey data to support activity evaluations.
- Participates on initiatives related to the successful implementation of the grant.
- Builds positive relationships with students, instructors, Career Pathway Facilitators.
- Completes other duties and related responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a related field.
- Ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with diverse populations including students, faculty, staff, supervisors/administrators, and members of the community.
- Knowledge of the management and coordination of Adult Education programs.
- Strong background and proven success in recruitment, retention, completion, and job placement.
- Proven skills and experience in data collection and management.
- Ability to be well organized.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain strict accuracy and be detail oriented;
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be self-motivated.
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows based computer applications and computer skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments.
- Ability to travel to different campuses.
- Ability to positively represent the college.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally more than twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment, as necessary. IRSC (Indian River State College) expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
