Position Summary:
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the Fitness Instructor is fluent in multiple disciplines and is responsible for leading safe and engaging classes. The fitness instructor is responsible for, but not limited to the listed responsibilities below.
**MUST BE PROFICIENT IN TEACHING ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING DICIPLINES:
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate a Group Fitness class.
Adapt classes to the specific groups - ranging from beginners to advanced.
As required, modify moves, techniques for participants who may have limitations.
Address any emergency issues requiring attention to supervisor or security.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
First Aid and CPR C Certification.
Required certification to deliver and coordinate the activity (e.g., Personal training certification, specific instructor certification for group fitness classes).

Knowledge of English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4.
