Primary Function: This position provides strategic coordination and high-level administrative support to advance the work of the Office of Innovation and Strategy (OIS). The role ensures continuity and clarity in institutional initiatives, particularly those related to the Strategic Plan, the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology (CTLT), and faculty-led innovation in teaching and learning. The Project Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the office’s cross-departmental collaborations and executive functions.
Responsibilities: (1) Provide logistical and operational coordination for cross-institutional initiatives such as Strategic Plan implementation and tracking. (2) Offer administrative and project support for faculty development programming within the CTLT, including Pedagogy Passion Projects and learning communities. (3) Assist in organizing, promoting, and managing events and pilot programs that advance teaching innovation and student success. (4) Facilitate consistent communication between departments involved in OIS initiatives (e.g., Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Institutional Effectiveness).(5) Support documentation, reporting, and outcome tracking for initiatives to ensure readiness for accreditation and institutional assessment needs. (6) Collaborate with budget managers to track and monitor expenditures tied to innovation and faculty support efforts. (7) Identify and improve workflows that promote clarity, reduce redundancy, and increase the effectiveness of project delivery. (9) Provide supplemental administrative support to the Presidential Suite (e.g., Executive Leadership Team), particularly following staffing transitions. (10) Serve as liaison for initiative-based working groups or committees, ensuring follow-through and alignment with institutional priorities. (11) Act as a resource for faculty and staff participants in events and programs, helping them navigate implementation logistics. (12) Attend internal meetings to represent the Office of Innovation and Strategy and document key takeaways and deliverables. (13) Maintain project dashboards, tracking tools, and shared documentation to support transparent and consistent progress updates. (14) Lend occasional support to the project management of Commencement Ceremonies. (15) Perform other duties as assigned.
Organizational Relationships: (1) Reports to the Executive Director of Innovation and Strategy. (2) Assists the Executive Suite, including the Executive Director, DEI, and Executive Director, Government Relations & Public Safety. (3) Works closely with faculty, staff, and administrators to coordinate college-wide efforts. (4) Serves as a connector between the Office of Innovation and Strategy and other departments to ensure institutional alignment and collaboration. (5) Aligns daily functions with institutional goals, especially the NCC Strategic Plan and teaching-related accreditation standards.
Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when (1) Projects related to strategic initiatives are implemented with timeliness, transparency, and consistency. (2) Communication between cross-functional stakeholders is effective and well-coordinated. (3) Faculty and staff involved in OIS and CTLT-supported programs feel supported and can sustain momentum. (4) Institutional data, documentation, and deliverables are organized and prepared for review by stakeholders. (5) Events and initiatives reflect attention to detail, strong coordination, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications: (1) Education: Bachelor’s degree required from a Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) approved Institutional Accreditor institution. (2) Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: (a)Strong interpersonal and communication skills. (b) Proactive approach to complex projects with multiple stakeholders. (c) Highly organized, with an eye for detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. (d) Collaborative, flexible, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. (e) Knowledge of project coordination best practices and change management principles. (f) Technological proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and OneDrive). (g) Familiarity with higher education environments and teaching/learning initiatives preferred. (h) Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality 3. Experience: Three or more years of administrative or project coordination experience, preferably in higher education or a related field.
