Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. It is expected that an adjunct member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview. Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end. They should strive to employ a variety of techniques for the development of good learning conditions, view each student as a unique individual, and insofar as it is possible, provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Teaching Responsibilities
1. Teach material from approved curriculum in accordance with assigned schedule to ensure student success.
2. Assist students in achieving completion of objectives and learning outcomes.
3. Provide regular and timely assessment and feedback to students.
4. Participate in school retention initiatives by maintaining contact with students and offers assistance to absent students.
5. Advise students in matters related to academics and attendance.
6. Motivate students to actively participate in all aspect of the educational process.
7. Maintain and report student grades and attendance in accordance with university policies.
8. This is residential teaching and requires in-class teaching.
Qualifications, Credentials, And Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Candidates must be able to educate students from a Christian worldview.
2. Candidates must have a compatible statement of faith and academic worldview with Liberty University.
4. Earned masters in Psychology, or related field from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
5. Superior interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and communication skills required.
6. Creative, innovative, and problem-solving skills required.
7. Proven organizational skills and ability to complete assignments timely and accurately with minimal supervision.
8. Experience using MS Office, Canvas, and audio/video.
9. Able to obtain and maintain licenses if applicable as required by state or accrediting commissions.
10. Demonstrated strengths in teaching & mentoring at the college level is essential.
