About the Role:
The Assistant Director will lead the design and deployment of statewide initiatives that strengthen early childhood workforce pipelines through Registered Apprenticeships and Skills Training programs. This role serves as a statewide coordinator and partner-engagement strategist, ensuring alignment with Indiana’s workforce development priorities and the Ivy+ Career Link strategic model. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated success in project execution, partnership cultivation, and scalable training design.

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
Program Implementation & Technical Assistance
- Drive the statewide implementation of Early Childhood Registered Apprenticeship programs by providing tools, frameworks, and guidance to campus Apprenticeship Leads.
- Deliver technical assistance to Apprenticeship Directors, Talent Connection Managers, and Employer Consultants.
- Monitor program budgets, support reporting functions, and steward successful adoption through the Ivy Tech AVP for Apprenticeship & Work-Based Learning.
Employer Engagement & Network Building
- Build strategic partnerships with early childhood care and education employers to expand program reach and impact.
- Represent the program at local and statewide workforce convenings; maintain presence through proactive outreach and relationship-building efforts.
- Participate in Ivy Tech Employer Connection network meetings to share progress updates and cross-functional insights.
Training Design & Resource Development
- Co-develop and maintain standardized playbooks, technical guides, and LMS course content (Canvas) for Apprenticeship and Skills Training programs.
- Design training toolkits and online learning modules in collaboration with the Talent Development & Learning function.
- Coordinate with campus teams to ensure resource fidelity and consistent implementation of Skills Training workplans.
Data Stewardship & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with the Executive Director to manage project metrics, analyze progress, and prepare timely enrollment and completion reports via Banner and other systems.
- Document campus engagement, skills training outcomes, and regional milestones for internal and external reporting.
- Contribute to grant documentation, sustainability planning, and evidence-based decision-making.
Marketing, Communication & Visibility
- Collaborate with Ivy Tech’s statewide Marketing team to craft compelling outreach materials for employer and student engagement.
- Provide communications support to local campus teams to ensure messaging consistency and branding alignment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, workforce development, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in early childhood, adult learning, registered apprenticeships, or community-based programming.
- Demonstrated success in project coordination, training delivery, and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in virtual collaboration tools, CRM/LMS systems, and instructional design platforms.
Preferred Attributes:
- Master’s degree in education, policy, human services, or public administration.
- Experience working with senior leadership, governmental bodies, or higher education executives.
- Familiarity with Indiana’s political and workforce landscape.
- Prior experience in data analysis, grant management, or apprenticeship infrastructure.
Additional Notes:
- This position is contingent upon continued grant funding beyond October 31, 2027.
- Travel throughout Indiana is expected for campus support and stakeholder engagement.
