Job DescriptionThe Manager, Systems Engineering oversees a group of DevOps System Administrators and leads efforts to modernize infrastructure delivery and operations by working closely with system administrators and software developers to automate processes and improve operational efficiency. Responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing automation frameworks for deployment, configuration management, monitoring, and infrastructure as code in hybrid cloud computing environments.
Work closely with system administrators and others to automate server provisioning, patching, and maintenance tasks; implement CI/CD pipelines and automation tools; manage infrastructure using tools like Terraform and Ansible; and monitor system performance while automating recovery procedures. Manages workloads across hybrid cloud environments and integrates on-premises systems with public cloud platforms, all while driving best practices in automation, reliability, and security.
Ensure that the team collaborates with other groups to conduct performance testing for their systems, build comprehensive observability dashboards, and enhance system reporting capabilities across the organization.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $134,150 to $167,700; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
This position offers a hybrid
work schedule at the discretion of management (NOT a fully remote option).
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related field.
- Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in DevOps tooling and system automation with at least three years of leading a technical group.
- Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure as code in both on-premises and public cloud environments.
- Solid background in Linux/Unix systems administration with a focus on reliability and automation.
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash (including YAML and JSON manipulation), Ansible, and Python to support automation and configuration tasks.
- Working knowledge of compiled or functional programming languages such as Java.
- Extensive CI/CD experience encompassing source control, build automation, testing, and deployment using standard DevOps tools such as Jira, Bamboo, Git (Bitbucket, GitHub, GitLab), and Artifactory.
- Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices.
- Strong understanding of monitoring and observability platforms, with experience implementing dashboards and alerts to support system health and performance.
- Fluent in containerization using Docker and experienced with orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Able to perform technical deep-dives across operating systems, application performance, databases, networking, storage, and load balancing.
- Knowledge of IT service management best practices, including change management and incident response in production environments.
