Promote the success of Early Childhood Education students with course tutoring and support for Math. Schedule tutoring and study sessions. Attend relevant classes if needed. Meet with faculty and leadership periodically. Complete all required paperwork and training. Promote awareness of the early childhood education program, tutoring, and library services, and assist with general library tasks as needed. Contribute to an inclusive environment consistent with Ivy Tech Community College goals and values. This a a grant-funded position for up to 20 hours per week and up to three years.
Major Responsibilities:
- Promote a professional, welcoming, and inclusive environment in which every individual feels respected and valued.
- Schedule tutoring and study sessions applicable to the relevant math courses.
- Attend math courses with the students, as needed.
- Meet with individual ECED students or groups, in-person or via Zoom, to enhance, support, and clarify course-related concepts in the subject(s) for which you were hired.
- Meet with the general studies or ECED faculty, the ECED Chair, or the ECED Practicum Coordinator periodically.
- Provide students with guidance in the acquisition and application of study skills.
- Promote tutoring to students and faculty through class visits or other opportunities.
- Serve as a link to other college resources.
- Complete all paperwork and training as requested by the supervisor.
- All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
Other Responsibilities, if/when work hours are assigned in the library
- Assist patrons with general library services (printing, laptop checkout, textbook orders, etc.)
- Provide opening and closing coverage as needed.
- General tidying and restocking of the library and printer as needed.
- Assist Library Technician with events or major projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated competency in the specific discipline of intended tutoring, through prior coursework or experience.
