Position SummaryThe Chief of Staff and Strategic Advisor to the Associate Vice Chancellor reports directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor, Office of Campus and Community Safety, leading or coordinating a wide range of complex activities and responsibilities. The Chief of Staff and Strategic Advisor carries primary responsibility and accountability for the progress and success of Office of Campus and Community Safety initiatives, including short and long-term initiatives designed to improve campus and community safety.

Qualifications Experience as an academic institutional leader or Deputy Chief of Staff with an appreciation for complex issues involving administrators, faculty, students, alumni and external constituents. (Required) Cross-functional leader and manager with knowledge of the organizational environment of higher education and large research universities to understand priorities, issues, motivations and constraints. (Required)Advanced strategic thinking and consulting skills in guiding the campus toward workable strategies and solutions. (Required)Working knowledge of compliance processes, protocols and procedures. (Required)Working knowledge of legal constraints and opportunities for higher education (Required)Experience with accreditation processes and requirements for higher education. (Required)Advanced analytical, problem-solving, project planning and implementation skills. (Required)Advanced written, verbal, and presentations skills for influencing and facilitating sustained change. (Required)Working knowledge of reporting structures and interactive roles of management within a complex higher education or related organization. (Required)Experience and expertise in strategic planning and organizational and operational design often involving senior leadership from multiple units. (Required)Skills to effectively lead highly significant engagements from inception to conclusion. (Required)Highly skilled in navigating complex organizations. (Required)
