EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEAny combination equivalent to: graduation from high school
AND Two (2) years’ experience as a custodian.
- One year of experience is equal to 12 months of experience at 40 hours per week. Applicable part-time experience will be converted to the full-time equivalent for purposes of meeting the experience requirement.
- If specifically referenced (i.e. degree 'or equivalent'), related experience that is above the minimum requirement may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
- Applicants with foreign degrees from colleges or universities outside of the United States must have their coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). A copy of the evaluation must be submitted with online application.
LICENSES AND REQUIREMENTS

JOB DESCRIPTION: CustodianESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Receive and store custodial stock and supply items; check supply deliveries and verify accuracy.
- Process custodial supply requests for supplies, materials and equipment; drive a District vehicle to deliver materials and supplies to off-campus sites.
- Repair and maintain custodial equipment for distribution.
- Sweep, scrub, mop, wax and buff floors; vacuum and shampoo rugs and carpets; operate equipment such as floor buffers and vacuum cleaners.
- Clean and disinfect lavatories, toilets and other plumbing fixtures; wash windows; dust, wax and polish furniture and wood work.
- Replace light bulbs; turn out lights and lock doors.
- Report sanitary and safety hazards to the proper authorities.
- Respond to immediate or emergency cleaning or repair requests.
- Oversee and participate in the preparation and set up of rooms and facilities for special events, activities and meetings; move, arrange and deliver set-up items and equipment as necessary.
