Position SummaryThe UCLA Institute of Transportation Studies and the Lewis Center for Regional Policy Studies are seeking a Marketing & Visual Communications Assistant with an interest in the intersection of business strategy, communications and design. This role offers hands-on experience translating research and policy insights into compelling visual and written content, while supporting broader marketing, branding and promotional efforts. Under close supervision of the two research centers, the assistant will apply business and marketing insights to develop strategic communications. Under direct supervision of the Communications Manager, responsibilities include writing and editing copy for research announcements and event promotions; participating in designing digital communications assets such as social media graphics, animations, and videos; and reviewing user experience elements of center websites. The assistant will also use data analysis and visualization to evaluate marketing effectiveness and improve campaign performance.

QualificationsProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. (Required)
Experience with video editing or animation tools. (Preferred)
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively. (Required)
Strong writing and editing skills for crafting effective copy across platforms. (Required)
Interest in business economics principles to communications, including market analysis, budgeting, and strategic positioning (Required)
Creative and strategic thinker with an interest in marketing, branding, and data-informed design. (Preferred)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal AffiliationsBachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training (Required)
