Serving as a hub for student engagement, advising and transition support within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), Arts Central is a dedicated space for students to connect with one another and with FASS engagement and advising staff. Arts Central advisors provide advising and enrolment support to prospective and current students, while also supporting on campus recruitment and transition activities.
About the Role
The Undergraduate Advisor/Recruiter advises potential and registered undergraduate students of the academic requirements for programs offered by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS). The role is responsible for advising students, administering undergraduate registration, programs of study, and graduation activities, and organizing and participating in recruitment activities. This position is shared between two units and works from both the Burnaby and Vancouver campuses.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience in post-secondary program advising and registration services, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Excellent knowledge of post-secondary regulations and academic requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, communication (verbal, written and presentation) skills.
- Proficient in the use of student information systems and software applications (i.e., database, spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing).
- Ability to exercise mature judgment, initiative, diplomacy and tact.
- Ability to arrange suitable transportation to various work and campus locations.

Additional Information
