Finance and Project Coordinator, College of Pharmacy and Nutrition
medSask is the provincial drug information service that provides healthcare professionals and the general public with access to on-demand, accurate, evidence-based drug information. medSask contributes to undergraduate education at the University of Saskatchewan, College of Pharmacy and Nutrition, offers continuing education for healthcare professionals, and collaborates on drug-therapy projects with other health organizations.
USask Continuing Professional Education (CPE) is based out of the University of Saskatchewan, College of Pharmacy and Nutrition. USask CPE develops, implements, supports, and evaluates continuing education and continuing professional development opportunities for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and healthcare professionals. USask CPE collaborates on continuing education courses with other health organizations and partners nationally.
Purpose: The College of Pharmacy and Nutrition is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial and Project Coordinator to support the work of medSask and USask CPE. This dynamic and impactful role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of financial operations, project coordination, and strategic planning, and who is eager to support healthcare education and public service initiatives.
Nature of Work:
Reporting to the Director, the successful applicant will function with a high level of independence, decision-making, and accountability. This position also requires short, medium, and long-term planning, and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of team members, external stakeholders, and the public. The applicant will need to demonstrate a high standard of service and communication.
Accountabilities:
- Manage financial operations including invoicing, quoting, payment processing, budgeting, and monthly reporting
- Manage and monitor projects across both units, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met
- Create and maintain internal policies and procedures
- Coordinate and support the planning of educational courses and events
- Support accreditation processes
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
- Promote a collaborative and respectful team culture
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director
Education:
Completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree in business, public administration, education, health sciences, or a related field is required.
Experience:
Experience in a post-secondary or healthcare-related environment will be considered a strong asset. Familiarity with University of Saskatchewan systems and tools (such as Unifi, Concur, Canvas, SurveyMonkey, Mailchimp, Cascade, and Destiny One) is highly beneficial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word) and tools like Kofax is expected. Experience coordinating or managing projects is also desirable.
