Position SummaryUnder the general direction and supervision of the Academic Advancement Program's (AAP) Director of AAP Pre-College and Summer Programs and Associate Director for Counseling, the Summer Programs Coordinator for the Freshmen and Transfer Summer Program (F&TSP) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all of Summer Program events and programs; is a member of F&TSP leadership team; and is the direct liaison to campus partners. During the program dates, the F&TSP Coordinator is required to live in the residence halls and manage all programs; F&TSP is a seven-week academic residential program for a cohort of approximately 350-500 entering students from late July to mid-September.Will work collaboratively with F&TSP Residential Coordinator in coordinating all programmatic, supervisory, hiring, training, and administrative functions of the F&TSP Peer Counselors (PC), including serving as their team leader and mentor. Will work closely with the Director of AAP Pre-College and Summer Programs and the entire F&TSP leadership team on a variety of administrative duties, including but not limited to, student course placement and student development activities/programs to support students' time to degree. During F&TSP, be responsible for administrative documenting, performance tracking and response, and monitoring budget as it relates to PC training, programs, and activities. Work cooperatively and collaboratively with other AAP administrators and staff, as well as with other programs and offices external to the unit. Provide individual and group support to F&TSP students in the areas of academic, social, personal, and resource counseling. Prepare a written summary program evaluation at the conclusion of F&TSP. The F&TSP Coordinator will also work closely with the AAP F&TSP leadership team to make recommendations for the continued development of AAP's Summer Programs.

Qualifications1. Demonstrated skills in program planning, implementation, administration and evaluation with specially targeted students. (Required)
2. Skill in working independently, setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities, and following through on duties with minimal direction. (Required)
3. Demonstrated skill in problem solving and generating alternatives in order to improve operational process. (Required)
4. Ability to organize and conduct group and ZOOM presentations to provide information and explain policies and procedures to various constituencies while and also demonstrating skill in interacting diplomatically with representatives from other academic units/institutions during joint projects. (Required)
5. Skill in speaking with persons of various cultural, social economic and educational backgrounds, and establish and promote cooperative working relationships. (Required)
6. Ability to effectively counsel and support students with personal questions and concerns while also demonstrating a working knowledge of a wide array of College and University regulations, as they relate to the proper counseling of students. (Preferred)
7. Demonstrated skill in supervising student employees including delegating responsibility, training and evaluating performance. (Preferred)
8. Experience with student residence hall programs in coordinator or lead role and/or coordinating programs with virtual experiences. (Preferred)
9. Skill in writing grammatically correct, concise, logical reports, correspondence and proposals. (Required)
10. Ability to use standard office applications (MS-Word, Excel, e-mail, web-page browsers and ZOOM or google platforms). (Required)
11. Skill in evaluating information and policies according to criteria established by the Associate Director for AAP Counseling and the Director of AAP Pre-College and Summer Programs. (Required)
12. Must be able to work maintain flexible work schedules, including evenings and weekends as needed. (Required)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal AffiliationsBachelor's Degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training (Required)
Master's Degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training (Preferred)
