Our commitment to employment equity helps achieve inclusion and fairness, brings rich diversity to UBC as a workplace, and creates the necessary conditions for a rewarding career.
The purpose of this position is to 1) prepare an evaluation report for the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and 2) Develop material to support orientation and onboarding of new course instructors at UBCO
UBC Okanagan's Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) promotes and supports teaching and learning excellence. CTL provides campus wide support for all models of inclusive and evidence-based teaching and learning; including online learning. In addition, CTL provides design, development and evaluation support for UBC courses, programs and other learning experiences.
This position reports to the Manager, CTL.
Orientation and onboarding documents for new course instructors
Consequence of Error/Judgement
The evaluation report must be an accurate and thorough record of CTL activity: it will inform CTL planning and programming, and it will be used to inform campus leadership of CTL’s activity. Judgement is required in selecting, summarizing, and synthesizing content within an evaluation framework that will be provided. The draft report will be reviewed, revised, and approved by both the CTL Manager and CTL Academic Director.
The documents for orientation and onboarding of new course instructors must be accurate and accessible. Judgement is required in selection of content and design of the documents, based on thorough review of existing practices and recommendations, as well as collaborative work with other staff members.
The CTL Manager will provide supervision, guidance, and support, and the CTL Academic Director will also provide guidance and support.
Demonstrated a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion
The position requires some on-site, in-person work but it may be done in a hybrid mode (i.e., combination of in person and remote), at the discretion of the CTL Manager.
